THE INTERNATIONAL OLD SKOOL of BMX 2009 - ATTRACTIEPARK SLAGHAREN - HOLLAND.
Dear friends,
It is my pleasure to inform you all, that the last year cancelled O.S. of BMX Reunion (cancelled due to me being ill) will be helt at the
ATTRACTIEPARK SLAGHAREN in Holland, this year. The INTERNATIONAL OLD SKOOL of BMX is scheduled to take place in the following weekend: OCTOBER 2nd,
3rd and 4th.2009.
Within about 4 till 6 weeks more details will be announced. Main goal is to bring Old Skool BMX racers, possibly with their families together at the
location were among others, the 1983 I.BMX.F. Worlds took place as well as 10 European Challenge Cup events.
We hope to welcome many Europeans and probably some USA Old Skool bmx racers, talk history,
show DVD's, visiting the BMX Museum at the park, have a party on Saturday evening celebrating 30+ years of BMX in Europe and represent to you all
those present, who are inducted in the European BMX Hall of Fame (see http://www.univofbmx.com). Special activities for the children of the Old Skool BMX'ers such as a KIDS BMX CLINIC (3-5 y. olds) and a JUNIOR BMX
CLINIC (6 y. and over), conducted by former

Fantastic news guys, Dedemsvaart BMX Club approx 7 miles from the Ponypark have agreed to host the race.
We are emailing over the criteria that was used for the Old School Series to Gerrit for him to review and set the entry spec for bikes.
He hopes to have official flyers and details of pricing asap.

The UNIVERSITY of BMX and ATTRACTIEPARK SLAGHAREN are the organizers of the “International Old Skool of BMX Reunion & Celebration of 30 years of
BMX in Holland and therefore in Europe.
Waalre/Slagharen, April 9th. 2009.
Dear friends in BMX, Old Skool BMX riders and officials,
More than 30 years ago, I introduced the sport of BMX during an International Moto-Cross event at the “Euro-circuit” in Valkenswaard – Holland. About
8 months later, to be precise October 19th 1978 we formed the Stichting Fietscross Nederland (S.F.N.) and BMX became then an official sport.
We cordially invite Old Skool BMX riders from the period 1978 till 1994 to be part of the first international BMX Reunion in Europe and celebrate as
well the 30 years of existence of the sport of BMX. We will come together and socialize at the location were in 1983 the first outside-USA BMX World
Championships took place in Holland at ATTRACTIEPARK SLAGHAREN (at that time called PONYPARK Slagharen).
At this venue, several years after the 1983 Worlds, special designed and prepared BMX TV events were broadcasted Nationwide and among others a couple
of European Championships (individual and teams) took place here as well as 10 European Challenge Cup events, probably well remembered by many of you
all.
Besides O.S. riders, also former officials are more then welcome and of course those interested fans/supporters from back then are welcome as well to
have a great weekend at the amusement park, socializing, talking history and meeting old friends from the early days of BMX.
This unique weekend will take place from Friday 2nd till Sunday October 4th 2009. Most of the Old Skool BMX riders do have families themselves now and
together with their children these young families can have a great time. There is no better place to have this Reunion and Celebration then at
Attractiepark Slagharen.
Wouldn’t it be nice to meet old friends, former competitors and talk about the early days of the sport? Show your children how this sport started out
and explain them what their parents mend in the developing of the sport. Besides that, the children can have a great time at the Amusement park
itself.
Just like the old days, a special section of the cottage area has been reserved for this happening. Like in the early days, a BMX village will be
formed and this is done not only at the park itself, but also on the camping-site. The camping-site was a favourite place for many National and
International riders and their families.
Accomodation.
Participants and their families (2 parents and 4 children) are able to rent a cottage, type Arizona from October 2nd till October 4th 2009 for the
price of € 175,= (this price includes free entrance amusement park). For more details and booking, check the website http://www.slagharen.com On the opening page, click on special offers on top right (Aanbiedingen & Acties), then klick on more offers

Specially for this occasion also non families, like a group of friends of Old Skool BMX’ers, will be allowed to rent a cottage, only limit is a
maximum of 4 adults in one cottage.
If you are planning on using a camper, caravan or tent, the Slagharen Camping-site is available for you. One location (for camper, caravan or tent;
seize doesn’t matter) for the weekend of October 2nd through October 4th 2009 will cost you € 88,= total and includes free entry of Attractiepark
Slagharen for 2 adults and max. 4 children. For more details and booking, follow the procedure as mentioned above. Check the website http://www.slagharen.com and write down the code: BMX2.
It will also be possible to visit the Attractiepark Slagharen on just one day, or during the whole weekend, when you are staying somewhere outside the
park (Hotel). Information on prices for one day tickets or a passe-partout (3 day ticket), where and when to buy them, will be published later on.
We are sorry to say that there is no “BMX Stadion Slagharen” anymore. The track has been closed and removed since 1994.
More detailed information like prices for day tickets, passe partout, the weekend program, names of participants Reunion and so on, will also be
published at the website http://www.univofbmx.com from May 2009 on.
Provisional planning of the weekend.
This will be the first ever International Old Skool of BMX Reunion in Europe. Since last year’s reunion had to be cancelled, due to my illness, up and
till today old skool riders from Denmark, Germany, Latvia, Belgium, France, England , America and even Indonesia have shown interest to be present at
the 2009 reunion.
At this moment we are trying to get the first ever Olympic Champions in BMX, Anne Caroline Chausson (F) and Maris Strombergs (LV), to be present at
this reunion.
Here our provisional schedule:
Friday October 2nd. Arrival of participant with their families or friends.
From 10.00 hours: Attractiepark Slagharen opens its gates.
From 14.00 hours: The accommodations will be available to the participants. Time to “check out” the park and find out what changed since 1993.
19.00 hours: Official opening, welcomes party and more final details on our weekend program.
Saturday October 3rd.
9.00 hours: Breakfast (special price) possible for all participants at the restaurant “Mountain Lodge” in the park (reserved space).
10.45 hours; Official opening of BMX Museum.
11.30 hours: Kids BMX Clinic. Former World Champs will “train” (play for kids) children from 3 till 10 years, three groups, each group about 20
minutes).
14.00 hours: BMX free-style demo’s during the day (2).
16.00 hours: O.S. BMX-bike and uniform election. Three categories, besides the bicycles exposed at the BMX Museum at the park, also Old Skool BMX’ers
can bring their O.S.bikes and have them judged. A Jury will select the most original and best looking pré-90 bikes and will award first prices in
three categories. Also original uniforms/complete outfits will be judged. More details on this item, check http://www.univofbmx.com from May on.
19.00 hours: Start of the Old Skool of BMX party in the recently new decorated City Hall. Food & drinks available. During this evening the
presentation of European BMX Hall of Fame members who are present. Also a special performance of an old skool BMX’er and his band called: D.A.A.N. For
the time being we will keep the name of this former European and World Champ a secret! More details on this evening later on.
23.00 hours: End of Old Skool of BMX party.
Sunday October 4th.
9.00 hours: Breakfast (special price) possible for all participants at the restaurant “Mountain Lodge”.
11.00 – 15.00 hours: for those interested it is possible to take part in a mutual BMX event at the Dedemsvaart BMX track, located about 7 km from the
park. This brandnew, Weiterstadt - type track will run the “Trophy of Nations” event. Old skool bikes (pré – 90) and equipment must be used. Rules on
this later on at http://www.univofbmx.com
14.00 hours: During the day, BMX free-style demo’s (2).
15.30 hours: Official presentation of awards on the “Trophy of Nations” in the renewed City Hall at the park, followed by the official closing
ceremony of this event.
19.00 hours: All reunion participants and their families must have left cottages, camping-site and amusement park. This is then the end of a
hopefully fantastic weekend.

Ik kreeg zojuist weer een update van Gerrit Does
Beste sportvrienden, verzamelaars,
Even een kort berichtje. 16 september a.s. heb ik op Slagharen een finale afstemming en het doornemen van het draaiboek. Kort daarna, in diezelfde
week, wil ik een laatste UPDATE (inclusief het definitieve programma) laten uitgaan per mail (800 mail adressen!) over de reünie in zijn
algemeenheid.Specifiek naar jullie groep van 10 verzamelaars toe, zal ik nog een EXTRA update sturen m.b.t. belangrijke punten die in de loop van de
afgelopen weken door diverse van jullie zijn aangekaart en waarop ik dan een hopelijk duidelijk antwoord kan geven. Hopelijk lukt het een ieder van
jullie om op vrijdagavond zeker aanwezig te zijn op Slagharen, dan kunnen we daar ook nog een korte bijeenkomst beleggen in de Hall en zaken
doorspreken.

Just in short in English. September 16th I will have a final check at Slagharen with all parties concerned at the park. Right after that meeting I
will sent an UPDATE on the present situation of the Reunion organization, including the final program,
To ALL my e.mail contacts (800+) and people that already registered for this event. This will be an update on the event in general sense.
Specially for our group of 10 collectors I will have a separate and detailed UPDATE on the Exhibition situation. Questions asked during the past
months I will give answers to, so everybody will be up-to-date on all details.
So, ending next week final info on the Reunion, Celebration and O.S. BMX Bicycle Show.

“Internationale Old School of BMX Reünie/30 jarig bestaan van de fietscross-sport”
Waalre/Slagharen, 19 september 2009.
De definitieve opzet van het weekend.
Vrijdag 2 oktober 2009. Aankomst verblijfsgasten deelnemers aan de reünie, huisje/camping.
Vanaf 10.00 uur : Attractiepark open voor publiek.
Aanmelden bij de inschrijving op het park voor de huisjes en op de camping voor caravan,
camper of tent. Uitreiken enveloppe met o.a. algemene informatie en armbandjes die toegang
geven tot de Music Hall waar op zaterdag 3 oktober de feestavond zal plaatsvinden.
Vanaf 14.00 uur: Toegang tot de vakantiehuisjes, verkennen van het Attractiepark dat sinds 1993 enorm is
veranderd én een hernieuwde kennismaking met oud concurrenten/fietscrossers.
19.00 uur: Aanvang welkomst bijeenkomst voor alle deelnemers die op het park en op de camping
verblijven en wel op de 1ste etage van BIG JAKE’s DINER HOUSE tegenover hoofdingang
van het park. Ná het welkomstwoord, bijpraten, foto’s uitwisselen, dvd’s kijken, de planning
voor de rest van het weekend doornemen etc.
21.00 uur: Einde van de welkomst bijeenkomst.
Zaterdag 3 oktober 2009 Aankomst dagbezoekers/deelnemers reünie. Melden bij infostandje “BMX Reünie”.
8.00 uur: Ontbijt mogelijk voor deelnemers aan de reünie en wel in de Mountain Lodge (van 8.00 tot
10.00 uur). Wel van te voren middels formulier aanmelden bij Mountain Lodge. Reserveren!
10.30 uur: Officiële opening van de Internationale Old School BMX Bike Show in de Music Hall, zaal
achter podium van. Toegankelijk voor reünisten en alle dagbezoekers park. Een unieke
verzameling fietsen, kleding en andere zaken.
12.00 uur: Kids BMX Clinic I,. Olympisch kampioen Maris Strombergs “traint” (in spelvorm) de
kinderen van Old Skoolers vanaf 3 tot 10 jaar . Voorinschrijven. Locatie: Parkeerplaats
Camping Attractiepark Slagharen, naast tennisbanen. Uitgangspunt: sport en spel voor de
jongste niet ervaren fietscrossers. Bij slecht weer: AVRO TV FX dvd in Mountain Lodge!
13.45 uur: BMX Freestyle demo uitgevoerd door “Paul’s Boutique PURE BMX Team”.
15.45 uur: BMX Freestyle demo uitgevoerd door “Paul’s Boutique PURE BMX Team”.
19.30 uur: Zaal open m.b.t. de Old School of BMX party in de vernieuwde Music Hall. Tijdens deze
party, een korte terugblik op 30 jaar fietscross in Nederland en daarbuiten en verder de
presentatie en uitreiking van een aantal awards aan de bij ons bekende en aanwezige leden
van de European BMX Hall of Fame.
21.45 uur Een bijzonder optreden van een Old School BMX’er en band: D.A.A.N. inclusief een “ BMX
history quiz”. We houden nog even geheim wie D.A.A.N. is Bijpraten, foto’s e.a. zaken
uitwisselen etc.
23.00 uur: Afsluiting en daarmee het einde van de Old School of BMX party rond 23.00 uur (max.)
Zondag 4 oktober 2009. Aankomst dagbezoekers/deelnemers reünie. Melden bij infostandje “BMX Reünie”.
8.00 uur: Ontbijt mogelijk voor deelnemers reünie in de Mountain Lodge (van te voren reserveren).
12.00 uur: Kids BMX Clinic II, 3 tot 10 jarigen. Bij slecht weer: AVRO TV FX dvd in Mountain Lodge.
13.45 uur: BMX Freestyle demo door “Paul’s Boutique PURE BMX TEAM”
15.45 uur: BMX Freestyle demo door “Paul’s Boutique PURE BMX TEAM”

heb zelfs de echte laserlite decals gevonden 
nou ja nog 2 weekjes,
de laatste dingen zijn onderweg , tot nu toe loopt alles perfect op schema
alleen mijn bank saldo niet
Je kan Verzamelen wat je wilt , maar zonder het meegemaakt te hebben is het zinloos.
